Durango, CO - February 28, 2009 - The Skyhawk Women's Lacrosse team played their first game today in Denver against Regis University.

This game marks history for Fort Lewis College's Athletics. This was the first game for the Women's Lacrosse program. Senior Adrianne Dettler scored their first goal of the season and the first point for the newest team in the Athletic Department of Fort Lewis College. The goal was assisted by Jess Adams. The Second goal of the season was scored by Hallie Linnenkamp.

"I am so proud of my girls! They played hard all game, and even though we started a little slow the girls never gave up. I was most proud in the second half when we held the Rangers to six points compared to the twelve points in the first half." Said Kelly, Women's Lacrosse head coach. " Fort Lewis College's, Athletic Director, Explained "The crowd and environment was perfect for this game. It was a very exciting game to watch!

The Women's LAX team plays again tomorrow Misericodia at Colorado College. Their first home game is scheduled for April 3rd.
